US
congressman and misuse of technology
In both of the articles
it describes two US congressmen and there fall from grace. Anthony Weiner a
representative from lower New York was caught sending revealing images of
himself to women over Twitter and Facebook. While another congressman from New York
State one Christopher Lee was found to have sent shirtless pictures of him to a
woman he met over Craigslist. In the end both of the congressmen resigned from
their positions.
These
articles remind me that our elected officials are people with flaws much like
ourselves, and that is why we have a democracy. We vote in those who we hope
will do the best job of governing but unfortunately not all of them are
qualified. And the truly sad part about both of these cases was that they did
not have to vacate office because of serious political misconduct or going
against their constituents and being voted out. Hopefully in the future our
elected officials will show a little more discretion and self restraint
especially in the digital age when almost everything you put out there can be
found.
Good points, Gavin!

Makes you really wonder what these people were thinking! They obviously know how to use technology. How they thought they'd be above it's consequences is beyond me!?
I agree that everything in this age is digital, and that people need to be careful about what they put on the internet. Especially if they are a politician, celeb, etc.
